About Investment Jungle
Welcome to Investment Jungle - a blog about my personal expedition to gain investment knowledge to navigate the investment jungle.
The Investment Jungle’s mission is to empower individual investors to gain the knowledge, skill, and confidence required to invest in high quality stocks to ensure a lifetime of successful investing so as not to fall prey to ‘predators’ within the financial industry.
And these ‘predators’ are the same individuals and institutions that present themselves as our saviors - leading us to investment riches and retirement bliss. Unfortunately, the financial industry is very self-serving and place their own interests before those of the investors. Our only recourse as investors is to arm ourselves with the investment knowledge required to become self-sufficient and forge ahead.
I am just an average Joe Investor looking to have my money work as hard for me as I do to earn it. What do I have planned for the Investment Jungle?
Goals:
- Develop my own investing strategy by studying and understanding current investment strategies and techniques.
- Publish my findings with my readership to stimulate discussion and learning.
- Use this strategy to enhance my own wealth (and hopefully my readerships’ wealth as well).
This will not be a short and easy journey. But together we can persevere, avoid the predators that are lurking in the jungle, and prosper financially for ourselves and our families.
Welcome aboard the expedition! And check out my reasons for investing in the stock market yourself!

Hello Joe,
I look forward to seeing more on your foray into the Investment Jungle. As for myself, I prefer to purchase stock directly from the companies that I have an interest in. These include:
The Coca-cola Company (KO)
Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.(BUD)
American Home Mortgage Investment (AHM)
Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC)
American States Water (AWR)
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.(WMT)
Wells Fargo & Company (WFC)
Brady Corporation (BR)
Graco Inc. (GGG)
Protor and Gamble (PG)
General Electric (GE)
Massey Energy (MEE)
Sherwin Williams (SHW)
Union Pacific(UNP)
A majority of these holdings are in line with the Buffett philosophy, but others are what I would term “fringe” companies or those bought with the long term expectation of a capital gain.
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing your future postings in the Investment Jungle.
